Chase’s name comes from three places. Her last name is a non-hyphened double barreled name, meaning it is the same as if it were spelled Goldberg-Friedman, but without the hyphen. She does not know why there is no hyphen, and she does have a different middle name.
The Goldberg is her father’s last name. It comes from his father, who got it from his father.
The Friedman is her mother’s last name, which she kept, and comes from her father, Leonard, who got it from his father, Ralph. Chase’s mother’s last name was Bernstecker, and her mother’s last name was Kramsky. Kramsky is a very uncommon name and if your last name is Kramsky, you are probably a distant cousin.
The Chase originates from designer Chayse Dacoda. It is said to also be a more feminine version of her great grandfather’s name, Charlie.
